On July 1 his “ Touch Grass” post - the phrase refers to unplugging from screens and getting out in the natural world - offered up Mac OS X 10.5 Grass Blades Wallpaper. ![]() Enjoy.ĭownload Midnight Mac wallpapers for Mac: Midnight Mac 01, Midnight Mac 02, Midnight Mac 03 ‘Touch Grass’ This wallpaper comes from a shot Steve Jobs supposedly took. I’m posting a few variations upscaled to 6K. These ‘Midnight Mac’ images evoke memories of my time in university, working late into the night in lonely campus corridors or at some diner or cafe into the morning hours. With that mood as my target, I wanted to see how Midjourney could recreate a modern version of this style.Īfter many dozen tweaks, revisions, variations, and modifications, I created a few images that I was pleased with in their ability to capture the solitary motif of Hopper’s work. The image is iconic for capturing the loneliness and separation existing in American life at the time. Recently, I got the idea to make a modern version of Edward Hopper’s famous 1942 Nighthawks’ oil painting, which was bundled with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Unlike the others, this one is just for Mac. Just a day before his space shot came out, Basic Apple Guy offered “ Midnight Mac.” It’s based on Edward Hopper’s iconic painting, Nighthawks (not to be confused with Tom Waits’ 1975 album Nighthawks at the Diner, which took inspiration from Hopper). This is the second of three different wallpapers in the series. Enjoy.ĭownload Trip Around the Sun wallpapers: iPad | Mac | iPhone ‘Midnight Mac’ A nighthawk works on his MacBook at the diner. ![]() It captures the sun cresting over the horizon of our rotating planet, casting long shadows as the first light hits the clouds. I started my review of the MacBook Air with the line ‘around the sun’ in my head, so the image is a fallout of that intention. Although created in Midjourney, additional stars, texturizing, and cleaning up the image occurred to improve the overall quality as much as possible. The image was rendered in Midjourney and upscaled to a 6K resolution (but it looks much better on a smaller panel like a 13 or 14-inch display). Here is the “Trip Around the Sun” wallpaper I used in my M2 MacBook Air Review header. ![]() On Thursday Basic Apple Guy released “ Trip Around the Sun,” a stunning image from space showing the sun cresting over earth, pictured above. In July he already has three new wallpapers for your consideration. Back in March, he riffed on macOS Big Sur and Vincent Van Gogh for his “ Big Starry Sur” wallpapers. Recently, for WWDC23, he made stunning iPhone 14 schematics wallpapers. And they’re free, though you can and should leave him a tip. More cameras (and camera studies) are urgently needed to start filling in the many gaps.We often pick up on Basic Apple Guy’s new wallpapers because they’re so-often cool-looking. In total, less than 5% of the global snow leopard range have been surveyed with research cameras, so we still have far too little solid information on snow leopard populations the really assess how the cats are doing. While these cameras are very much a research tool, they also provide us with breathtaking images of the elusive snow leopard. With remote-sensor research cameras, our field teams are surveying snow leopard populations in key habitats in five of the cat’s range countries. ![]()
